Habitat for Humanity Colombia did a great report of the houses that were built inthe community of Filandia, Quindio. For all of us have been a great privilege and honor to server and help those families to built their houses. Our heart will always be with the families and the community of Filandia! Sustainable Communities: In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and with the firm determination of building a better world, our actions are aimed at promoting the following objectives:
The Cisco System Team visited Colombia to provide a decent and safer home for the Alzate Ocampo and Guerrero León families. In May 2018, Habitat for Humanity Colombia had the pleasure to host the first Corporate Global Village team in the beautiful Coffee Region. Twelve committed volunteers set out on a journey to Filandia led by the experienced leader Elliot Stockstad.
Your invaluable contribution of time, resources and love has made you an important part of the community of Filandia, and is helping Habitat build strength and stability in communities in Colombia. At their arrival the team found the warmth and love of the families, and left with the complete appreciation of the entire community and Habitat Colombia.
Intervention
– Construction of two new houses of 6m x 7m (20ft x 23ft), consisting of two bedrooms, a dining/living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Installation of safe water, sanitation and power networks.
– Activities such as: cutting and tying rebar, mixing and pouring concrete, settling the foundations for the houses and lying bricks were performed by the volunteers.
